A new year - A new challenge - A new sock...

Happy New Year to everyone. Hope this proves to be a prosperous and happy year for all!

Yes, I have joined the cause, with a couple of exceptions:

1) I will allow myself to purchase yarns that will go directly to charity knitting. My supply of WW and Bulky are very limited.

2) I will allow myself to re-join the STR sock club, if I so desire. I am on the list, pending my final decision.

3) IF I were to receive any yarns as gifts, that's ok.

and 4) I am re-evaluating after a period of 3 months. Nine months is a long time!!

I wish us all good luck with our efforts. Wendy said we could make up our own guidelines - so I am not breaking any rules here - just being real.

I have joined the Vintage Sock challege for January, and have chosen the French Child's sock as my project. I have a beautiful skein of Lisa Souza in "Garnet" colorway that I plan to use. I am not sure the pattern will show in such a dark color, but Garnet is my birthstone, and January is my birth month - so it seemed fitting.

I also started another Cozy in Cable CIC sweater yesterday, but have put it aside to work on the Garnet socks. It is such a shock going from big bulky yarn to this very fine fingering weight. My hands are happy - either way! Enjoy your knitting folks..... Have a happy Jan 1st!

I will be back soon with progress photo...

I'm so glad you're doing the vinatge sock KAL too! I love the Child's French sock and I'm sure yours will be gorgeous in "Garnet". I'm worried about my purple being too dark also - let's keep our fingers crossed!

Hi Kathy! I have frogged this sock twice now! I am discovering I need the room quiet with no tv and no conversation....the yo's are the culprit for me...if I loose one I don't know how to recover. I'm trying to decide if I should try one more time or just give up on this pattern :-)
