Down with Fit Frustration!
Jennifer asked what my next project would be. Last night, I cast on a toddler sweater for CIC. I am hoping that will be the next challenge, but as I understand it, there is always a need for toddler sweaters. After all the sizing issues with the InsideOut socks, I wanted a fun project - and I know this "will fit some child -- somewhere!"
The patters is an old standby - "Wonderful Wallaby" by Cottage Creations. I have made it many times, and truly enjoy the pattern. This is a size 4, out of a Denim color Paton's classic Merino. I plan to make the "pouch pocket" from the Denim Marl. I do not plan on making the hood, rather a rolled open color. I wouldn't think the kids would need a hood inside, although perhaps the pocket would be fun for someone to keep their special "things" in. (Marguerite, if you are reading this, and have a different opinion, let me know. I have enough yarn for the hood, I am sure.)
It is a cool and rainy day here today. Low stress level in our house (aka: Lazy Saturday). Sofee is just chilling, trying to avoid all liquids in an attempt to wait out the rain!! Not sure she'll make it... but venturing out in the rain is just one step up from dealing with snow on the ground, and we all know how she feels about THAT!!

Sofee is SO cute!!! Will be watching your Wallaby. I have orange wool to knit one. I really like the pattern.
Hi! I came over to visit after seeing you had commented on my post on the Favorite Socks KAL. I have to say, you own the cutest dog I have ever seen! Is she a chihuahua?
Your sweater is a beautiful colour, I am sure someone somewhere needs it.
Sofee is SO CUTE! : )
I'm casting on a CIC sweater this weekend, too.
What colors did you decide on for your *Karen's gloves*?
The little sweater is looking great. Should be a nice relaxing project with no "fitting" problems.(vbg)
As always that Sofee is so photogenic, she is just such a love. Hawk came paper trained..I get inexpensive puppy pads by the bulk and never worry about the wheather...but alas there are days when I wish he was trained for the outdoors, but with long work hours and a surgery I was recovering from it was the best to keep him on paper.
Your sweater is going to be beautiful ...I love the color.
Take care and give Sofee a pat for me.
No need to take up precious suitcase space with a hood. Best to leave it off.
Sofee always looks so beautiful and well groomed. Do you groom her yourself?
My very favorite children's sweater - I have made one for each of my 4 kids! Yes forget the hood, but keep that pocket!!!
I just want to leave a comment telling you how precious your Sofee is. She's a pretty baby.
I can't believe how cute Sofee is - what an adorable, sweet little face! And your toddler sweater is coming along so beautifully - I love the colour of the yarn you've chosen!
I just saw the Wallaby on THE KNITTING DOCTORS blog and it is beautiful. Can't wait to see how yours looks in that lovely blue.
I LOVE the Wallaby. It's the first sweater I ever made and it's perfect for young children. Wonderful colors you've chosen.
