One done, one in progress, and one "broken"....

I have the Wonderfull Wallaby for CIC finished. I am not too happy with the collar - I followed the patterns suggestion of a garter stitch collar instead of the hood - but next time I may search for a better alternative. It is out of Patons Classic Merino, Size 6 and 8 needles, Sweater size 4. Hope it will eventually keep a little body a bit warmer.

While waiting for the pattern for the glove kal to arrive, and as I am frustrated with the chore of picking out "contrasting" yarns with which to make these gloves - I started an easy pair of socks last night. "Waving Lace Socks" (yes - I have joined the masses) by Evelyn A. Clark from my new favorite book: "Favorite Socks". They are living up to their reputation of being a fun knit!!

And, I leave you with this:
It happens to everyone: A "bad hair" day!

Great sweater! I think the collar looks fine. Gotta love Paton's merino, so soft and such a good value for wool. Sofee is too funny.

Yes, we all have those bad hair days. When I was at my hairdressers today a GUY walked in and asked if they could mousse or gel up his hair because it was flat and he was having a bad hair day! It was all I could do to not let out an audible laugh...

The little sweater is adorable. I'm glad that you are enjoying your sock knitting. Good luck on choosing your colors for the glove KAL.

Sofee is precious....and I had a bad hair day today, too!

When I read that you were going to knit the Wallaby without a hood I was dismayed. After all, what's a Wallaby without a hood? But when I saw your picture I thought it looked very nice. I'm sorry to hear you don't like the collar. The sweater really does look quite nice and I'm sure it will make someone cozy warm.

Poor Sofee. I woke up with a bed head today. Tell her I can relate.

The Wallaby is, well, wonderful! I made one for CIC with the collar and I wasn't too thrilled with it either. But you're right - it will keep some child warm. If you figure out a better way to do the collar, be sure to let us know.
