"Nuttin but knittin" - that says it all, with an occasional deviation into the real world.

It must be a mood.....

A Mitten Mood!   I guess the 8 inches of new fallen snow in my driveway makes me think of mittens.  Sigh...These are both knit from handspun yarns.  The first one being the FatCatKnits fiber that my son gifted me at Christmas time.  The "Tree" mittens are from my latest spun yarn - the Ashland Bay.

This is the "Brioken Rib Stitch Mittens" pattern by Mountain Colors - with a little modification for better size.  It's the 2nd time I have knit this particular pattern.  Funny - when I entered them into my Ravelry project page, I found that there were only 2 other pairs listed in Ravelry - and one of those is one knit by a member of my TNKG.  I find that strange!  It's really a great pattern.

These are knit using the mitten pattern from the current Vogue Knitting magazine.  The colors are both dark, and probably not the best choice of colors, but I still like them -- VERY much!

I received notification from "YarnOver" of the classes that I will be attending during the event.  I got my first choice in both AM and PM classes!  I am thrilled and very much looking forward to the event.  It's going to be a great shopping event too.  But...back to classes.  I will be taking a photography class by Franklin Habit, and a class on Two-end knitting (a Scandinavian technique) by Carol Rhoades.  When I looked at the instructor roster, I felt a little like a groupie for a moment....but then I decided to chose classes for the subject matter, not the instructor.  I am sure I will be happy with my choices, and have a great weekend!!

I hate Blogger I love Blogger, but "new improvements" sometimes frustrate me so!!  I have the photos centered this post, but there is a large empty space on the bottom ..... what's with that??  I can't seem to remove it, so.....imagine that's a photo of our latest snow fall.  That works (I guess)....????

I love the first pair of mittens, the cuff looks to be interesting (is it a cable?) and your tree mittens are great!

I also like the black/brown mittens, and think that color combination is a winner!

We got oodles of snow yesterday, too. Big sigh. It's beautiful but should only be allowed on places other than streets and sidewalks, imho.

Sometimes (and only sometimes) I wish we had snow so I could do mittens too. Our Pacific NW winters are usually not cold enough for mittens. Yours are lovely. I'm still looking around for some small projects for my early handspun. I don't wear hats, don't need mittens, so I guess it will have to scarves!

By bloglines hasn't been updating you...

Happy Birthday, a little late. I hope you had a wonderful day.

The mittens are just lovely. It's always good to have lots of mittens.

I loved hearing about BG using the phone. He's so clever.

I like both mittens too. Like Dorothy, we don't often need mittens and I already have more than I wear. I need new small projects for my handspun but nothing has struck my fancy lately.

Snow photos?

I do live in mitten land and think your new creations look warm and cosy.

We're getting a nice addition foot of snow today. Not needed. Really.

I agree about the Blogger comments not being ideal because of the sometimes missing email addresses. I hated to change from Haloscan, but here we are. Guess I'll get used to it.

love the tree mittens. I'll be knitting a pair soon. I thought they looked good in the mag. Was disappointed I had to go on line to get the chart

Love the mittens...and with blogger...to eliminate the large blank space at the bottom I've been hitting delete after I'm finished typing and it seems to snug it to the bottom..hope that helps.
