"Nuttin but knittin" - that says it all, with an occasional deviation into the real world.

Stashes are of value.....

From my Fiber stash:   This SW Merino Braid from FatCatKnits, colorway "Tapestry", one that my son gave me as a Christmas gift,
became this yarn over the weekend.  It's a 2-ply worsted weight, 280 yards out of a generous 4oz braid.  I had decided some time ago, that I did not like spinning SuperWash fibers.  Hmmmm - I totally enjoyed this spinning effort, and I nearly forgot how soft and squishy Merino is.  I think I am a fickle spinner - my favorite fiber is usually the one I am currently working on!  Guess that's nice though, when you think about it.
And in turn, this yarn became this cowl:

It's a pattern that I was asked to test-knit for a friend, so not sure I can divulge much information about it.  Sorry the photo is so lousy.  I just don't know how to do the mirror thing with any success at all.

And, may I ask you fellow spinners out there ---  Opinion time again.  My DH (Dear, DEAR, DH) is wanting to purchase a Woolee Winder for me.  It's no small chunk of change (considering the extra bobbins I would want and all).  So....those that have them, are they totally worth every penny?  Any downside, complaints, or dissatisfaction?  Customer service issues/concerns?  I'm so straddle the fence on this one..... I would love to have one (I think) but seems sooooo expensive!

And another kind of Stash.....

They are multiplying!  We're up to 5 now!!!

Beautiful spinning. I have not yet attempted superwash, but just received some from Fat Cat that I'm anxious to try. I have a Woolee Winder and my opinion is that it's worth its weight in gold. I absolutely love it. I got mine as a fairly new spinner, so I did not have a large stash of bobbins. I got a total of 5 with it and just ordered two more. I'll probably add a few more as finances permit. I've heard that it's a little harder to spin laceweight, but even as a newbie, I'm getting fairly fine (although not lace, but that's probably my inexperience).

Ooooh, your yarn is beautifully spun and plied. I am not experiencing the same joy spinning superwash merino just now.

I think you should accept the offer from DH for the Woolee Winder. Just go for it.(vbg)

The cowl is stunning!! A great project for your hand spun.
On the Spin Control podcast the host recently got a Wooly Winder and has been discussing it. She too was concerned about the price. I bet she would be happy to answer your questions. http://www.spincontrolpodcast.com/ She has lots of contact info on her blog.

Oh, I love your Tapestry yarn! (and those ARE my colors!!) One of these days I'm going to break down and try to learn to spin. Until then, I sure enjoy seeing your work :-)

Don't have one, so I can't offer any advice except that if my husband wanted to get me one....I'd say "THANK YOU" :-)
