Finally.....

Some knitting to share!
First off, a cowl that I made for DH.  He tried one of mine when he was out snowblowing, and declared his desire for his own.  So, after searching for Malabrigo Worsted in an acceptable colorway, I managed to knock this out in a couple of days.
I have modified the original pattern quite a bit, making the back more shallow, and the front a little better coverage.  Detailed mods are on my Ravelry project page, if anyone is interested.  DH has worn it (inside and out) nearly nonstop since I finished it.  Actually, it has NOT been blocked yet - and probably won't be till it needs washed.  At least I know he likes it!  Not all bad.

And the other finished project is the Advent Scarf.
Totally in love with this!  It was such a fun way to countdown till Christmas.  I kept on schedule, starting on December 1st and finishing up on the 24th.  I hope a similar KAL is offered next year.  Sign me up!
Finished size is 11 inches by exactly 7 feet.  It's perfect for how I like to wear scarfs.  It's soft and drape-able too.  Each pattern was fun, and over way before you had a chance of getting bored.  I really looked forward to each days pattern piece.  Great fun!

It's so nice to see a finished picture of the Advent scarf. I have started mine, but haven't gotten beyond #4. Our knitting group will be doing this as a year long project - 2 patterns per month. I'm impressed that you could get it done during the busy Christmas season! It's beautiful!!

Cowls are really popular with men, I think they like them as they are such a utilitarian piece, not fussy like scarves can be when - like when your doing physical work and they keep slipping off. BG sure is getting tall and little Sofee sure looked comfy (always good to see the little one). Hope she is comfortable now. The scarf is very delicate.

Your scarf is gorgeous! The color is also what I think of for this type lace (mine is rose (sigh). I am very impressed that you were able to knit each day in only a day. I am still on Day 2.

Nice cowl and thanks for the instructions. It could be an idea for next year's gifts.

I am just in love with that advent scarf and the cowl is so fun! I can see why he doesn't take it off :) Maybe if I start an advent scarf now I'll have it done by 2012... Happy New Year!

The cowl is wonderful. Malabrigo is so soft. Your husband must love it.
