"Favorite" Socks......

They were a big hit this morning!
I think they may be a tad big, but I have not washed and dried them yet, so hopefully those toes will snug up a bit.  But....I know he's growing like a little weed, so probably I have nothing to worry about!

I ended up with a stitch count of 48 on 2.5mm dpns.  It's a knitpicks stroll yarn, so washable, even though it will probably pill like mad.  That seems to be my experience with their stroll sock yarns.  I have several other 5 grm skeins of sock yarn in appropriate colors.  So, he may get some more socks for school.

As for right now, he's quite pleased!  As am I!

After I posted last time, I realized I never posted a photo of my completed Mystery Shawl by Wendy Johnson.  It was a fun knit, and one I would recommend.   It was knit out of Lisa Souza "Sock it" yarn, which also made for an enjoyable knit.

I admit that I am a "Glee" fan.  Totally....since episode 1!  This weekend, I saw the movie "Glee - the concert".  I would recommend it - to Glee fans.  I went solo, as I didn't want to subject the hubbs.  He has never watched a single episode.  Anyway, a nice escape for me, complete with sinful popcorn.  It was a good thing!  :)

BG looks so pleased with his socks. I had knitted a pair of socks for Isobel several years ago when they lived in Orlando - it was a spur of the moment decisions while I was there. I honestly never thought she'd wear them. But despite being worsted weight wool, in the Orlando heat, her mom said she wouldn't go to bed without them. The shawl is so lovely. I love that color.

Grant looks very happy with his socks. I like Stroll yarn but have only used it for shawls. Your shawl is beautiful and I really like the color.

Popcorn is good for you - just not the butter (vbg)

LOVE those socks!!!! I'm making socks for a soon to be 4 y/o but I'm using 44sts instead. I think you're socks look fantastic and that little room in the toes means he'll be wearing them in march as well as now!

Oh its so good to have you "back"! Love the little socks. They're pretty addictive, let me just warn you. Once he gets used to them, he'll only want handmade socks. (I speak from experience!) The Stroll yarn has held up really well for the socks I've knit. With three little boys, they just get tossed in the washer and dryer, with no time for special treatment. I think you'll be pleased with it overall. Did you use your own pattern for those special socks? I just love them and the smile on his face!

Great socks, Kathy, on a very cute model! It's good to catch up with you; life does get busy sometimes, doesn't it. We've had a month of craziness here...grand kids over 3 weeks 24/7 which was a good reminder that we "ain't so young" anymore and a getaway to Cannon Beach, OR, so haven't done much blogging lately either. Love your latest projects, many of which are on my "list" for someday. Have a great rest of the week!
