Well, so much for That idea....

My "Soft Sumptuous Socks" have become "Slinky Slithering Snake" Socks. I frogged my first attempt at the SSS socks, that were in a nice benign Cobblestone County color-way. Very Pastel and sedate. But the fit was not right. I also was worried about the yardage of STR.

So...my second attempt is in a beautiful, earthy "Mombassa", one of Lisa Souza's newer color ways. It is just perfect for this stitch pattern. I am a happy knitter!! I am using Pony Pearls's 2.25mm, with 68st. Probably go down to 2.0 mm as I near the heel. So far, the fit is perfect.

And, speaking of happy knitter, I just ordered new yarns from Lisa. Joy of joys!!

Kathy, "Mombassa" does look like snake skin. Yikes! Very pretty though.

Wow - this is the most "snakey" one yet! It's a great pattern to knit with variegateds isn't it :-) Mine is just plain gold colour, but I have some Lornas Laces in variegated that I'll use for the next pair - yep I like it so much I'm making more.
