Done "Monkeying" around! (sorry folks!)

It is 45 degrees here in the middle of Iowa today! A great thaw after weeks of unusually cold weather. I just got back from a 45 minute walk. Needless to say, it was slushy and wet - it was wonderful! Fresh air and sunshine..... Only downer was that I could not take Sofee, just too wet and too cold if carried. But, there will be many more walks to come.....

DH planted his tomato and pepper seeds (inside) this weekend - the first official sign of spring.

Now - back to the title of this post: Yes, they are completed. It was a very fun pattern to knit up, quick too. The Monkey socks designed by Cookie. Yarn is Wildfoote Soft Jazz. Knit on my favs - Pony Pearls DPNS - 2.25mm. They are my "colors". I am very happy with them!

Next OTN - "Glittens" for my mom. Will post more about those soon enough...
PS: Retirement is great!! Walks in the middle of the day!!!

I started the Monkey Socks, too and am having a blast with them. I'm knitting them on MY PONY PEARLs and am thrilled to say I really like them a lot! Thanks, Kathy!

SPRING around the corner? Surely you jest!

That is (another!) gorgeous pair of socks! You do such beautiful work. Frisky can sympathize with Sofee - he doesn't mind a little cold weather but he just can't bear the snow and ice :( He really misses his long walks. Poor little chi's, hopefully spring is just around the corner!

We started our pepper plants several weeks ago. The jalapeno and the bhuts are up. The tabasco peppers aren't. It's a little early to put them out yet, but we probably will by the end of the month.

Did you do the twisted rib for the ribbing? I'm trying to decide if I want to make the effort or just do regular ribbing?

Love those Monkey socks. Maybe I do need a pair?

Glad to read that you're enjoying the start of your retirement. It just keeps getting better as time goes on.
