I don't wear hats. I don't own any hats. I am not experienced in making hats. But - Now I have a HAT. I am quite smitten with it too, truth be known! On a whim I cast on this easy-shmeasy plain-jane hat last evening. By the end of Desperate Housewives, it was done! About an hour and a half. It is made from one skein of KnitPicks Cadena. Very soft and cushy. I found this
hat calculator - great tool. I'm keeping this link. I may want ANOTHER hat someday!!

For those of you who think I am so good about completing projects, I confess. Years and years ago, I started a felted bag. About that same time, I lost interest....and it has sat in a bin being sad and lonely. Well - I frogged that bag, and it is being re-born as a pair of felted clogs for DH. That yarn will become loved and needed from now on. I hear happy fibers....little mini-cheers as I knit with it....! I made him a pair of clogs several years ago, and he has finally worn a hole in them. This new pair will be under the Christmas tree. (and the "green" folks would be proud...as it's a 100% recycled gift).

And, I have added another gift to the list. I have several skeins of Navy Dale of Norway Falk left over from my son's sweater. I think I will knit him some fingerless mitts. He lives in New Mexico, and it does get cold there from time to time. I think the fingerless aspect will be good for the climate. He will be "home" for Christmas this year. He comes in on December 18th, so I must get them done by the 17th. Here's hoping....
The Tilted Duster is in process of final blocking right now. It looks very good - I think the wonky hem will be just fine. Sigh... I was a wee concerned about that
