Doggie Couture....

Sofee's new sweater is completed, and just in time - as it was brisk and chilly this morning. "Astro Sweater" from "Doggie Knits" by Corinne Niessner is the first sweater that I have ever been able to knit exactly according to the pattern and have it fit her perfectly! It's a terrific pattern, written specifically for a Chihuahua's figure. It's just a terrific book!
This was a great project: knit for my best friend, using some of my favorite yarns (trim out of Lisa Souza remnants, and the body out of the new Knitpicks sock yarn) and on my favorite needles, Pony Pearls size 2.75mm and 2.5mm. It was guaranteed to be a fun knit!
We are both happy. I have found that a nicely knit, well fitted sweater is one that she seems to enjoy wearing. She seems to prefer ones knit from fingering weight yarn also - less bulky I presume.

And if there is any question as to it's comfort, well.....it passes the "curl up and snooze" test!
Fall is good - new sweaters and eventually a hard frost bringing an end to those bothersome seasonal allergies. Sigh.....it's a dog's life!
