The Birds in Hand mittens are complete. They are so dense, and it's been so damp and humid here the last few days.....I didn't think they would EVER dry! But they did - and I really like them!
And here is the back side:
I was busy chatting away, and forgot the little flower on the first mitten. I decided to leave it with the small flower on only one mitten, and I kind of like it.
The cuff treatment is my favorite part of the pattern, I do believe.
And the "bird".....
It's on the tip of each thumb, and uses some embroidery (along with a little imagination) to come to life. I may not bother - it's awfully "fiddly".

LOVE THEM! and thanks for the comment on your fav.sock yarn. There is never too long a comment in my book. *v*
Have a great day...OH BTW I'm using your sock pattern and I'm loving the first sock so I think I finally have it.
I'm not much for fancy socks I just love the plain or ribbed ones.
I'll post after the first sock is done. Thanks much
I love the cuff on this mitten too (actually the whole thing is beautiful, but the cuff is extra special) I've got all my mitten books out - totally off season for me - but I think I want to knit mittens with this new fleece.
Your mittens are beautiful and should be very warm. I have always liked this pattern but didn't know it uses worsted wt. yarn. Sorry about your wrists! BTW, which handspun did you use?
Your mittens are beautiful! I bet they'll be warm and cozy but lets hope you won't need them until next winter:)
Fabulous mittens, Kathy, and so clever of you to figure out a way to tell the right one from the left! Nice yarn, too.
Love them. You always do such beautiful work and it seems like you get it done so quick.
It's been chilly enough in SW Michigan so I dug out some mittens to wear last week. Suns out today though, and I think it's finally going to feel like spring again.
Your latest mittens are spectacular and knit so well, as always. You sure can knit, Kathy, and I just wished I lived closer so I could join you now and then and pick up a few hints and helps along the way!
Your mittens turned out so nice! I love that pattern. I started them several months ago but having not done much stranded knitting I am a little concerned about carrying yarn across from needle to needle. I am afraid it will pucker there. Any advice for me so I can get started back on them? Should I just trudge forward and see how it goes?
Awesome mittens!
