Similar, but so different....

I'm taking advantage of out 78 degree weather today.....  They are done, and at first glance, they look quite similar.  But....One is lighter weight than the other, one has a more dense ruffle and the picots on the bind- off are closer together.  I tried to block them out the same size.  The color distribution is a bit different also.  My spinning must have been off, allowing for the one to be lighter than the other.  I had apparently spun the yarn thinner, and I have more yardage left over.  I'm sure both teachers will be quite pleased though, which is the important thing.  The compulsive part of my brain needs to be more forgiving of my hand-work sometimes.
I don't think I have shared this project bag.  Another fun one....for me.  Nothing special, but it makes me smile.

I cast on for teacher #3's socks this morning.  I'm using Berroco Sox for them, as I needed a certain color combo.  Not sure I am going to love this yarn.  I wanted a wash/wear yarn for her.  I wish I had been able to find an Opal in her colors.  I'm forging on with these though.....  I'll post photos soon.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Autumn days.  We've had a bit of rain of late, and some very cool days.  It's warmer today, but should cool down later in the week.  Hopefully dry out too, as I have a yard full of leaves.  Hubbs just had shoulder repair surgery, so the leaf raking/blowing will fall on me this year.  Too wet to do anything with today.  (Yay!!!).  But eventually.......

take care -
k

At first glance I thought they were the same shawl, a trick of the eye I suppose. They look lovely and I'm sure the recipients will love them. I haven't tried Berroco Sox yet but I just cast on with KnitPicks Swish and I don't care for it myself. Otherwise, just spinning and knitting. Best wishes to DH for a speedy recovery.

The shawls are lovely! At first glance, I thought the photos were of the same shawl, then my brain kicked in and saw they were different. The teachers will love them.

You should have 2 very happy teachers! I can't believe how quickly you finished these; it seems like I just looked at a photo of one of the yarn cakes. What pattern is this? It's very pretty.
