Another pair????
Yes, another pair of "Priscilla's Dream Socks"! I think I have found my perfect "plain jane" sock pattern. Fits perfectly, is fun, practical, and not bad looking either (if I do say so myself!!). It has a shortrow heel and toe - both made identical to one another.
This pair is made of a Regia Cotton Surf skein that I have had in my stash for quite some time. I have never knit a cotton pair of socks, although this is a blend of cotton/wool/nylon - it feels totally different to me. I hope it holds it's shape well.
Stats: "Priscilla's Dream Socks" by Priscilla Gibson-Roberts from the IW "Favorite Socks" book. 64 stitches. Upper leg knit on 2.5mm Pony Pearl DPNS, lower leg and foot on 2.25mm Pony Pearls.
Next on my knitting schedule is a sweater...YIKES!! Did I say "sweater"?? And, not a toddler sweater?? Double Yikes!! Wish me luck.....

That's what I thought ["Another pair?"] when I saw the photo on the SAM3 site. And I'm still trying to get one pair done - a pair I started before May 1 no less!
I might need you to help me with the short row heels & toes ... eventually! First though, I'll try them on my next pair for CIC and see if working with larger needles & thicker yarn will help.
I love the Cotton surf yarn. I bought most of the colors when it first came out. I've made two pairs of socks with it. I'm wearing one pair today and wore the other pair yesterday. They wash and wear like a dream. I love the cotton/wool blends, they have the best attributes of both fibers IMHO.
Beautiful! I really like the look of your short row heels.
They look beautiful!
You've almost convinced me to give the pattern a try. This old dog doesn't like to learn new tricks.
Lovely socks. Sometimes the plainer ones do turn out to be the favorites, especially if the yarn is beautiful like yours.
Do you have a sweater pattern picked out? Yarn? Tell us more!
Kathy, I could swear I left a comment, or am I having another "Senior Moment"?
I said, (I think:)
Love the socks. I also like the way you compose you photos, very nice job in both regards.
Thanks for visiting my blog again,
the pattern I used is "Carl's Cable Socks" from "KnittingWisdon.com.
I used the size needles and yarn called for. Debbie Bliss Cashmerino.
I try and stay within the yarn called for in a pattern, I'm just like that. Scaredy-cat maybe.
I agree that We must have similar tastes.
ooh, I love those! the colors are lovely and the pattern does look like a perfect sock.
Your socks are beautiful!
I look forward to seeing your sweater. Good Luck. I'm sure you'll do great!
